The main hipages alternatives for Australian roofers are Airtasker for small jobs, your own Google Business Profile and website, Google Search ads, referrals, and following up the quotes you already sent. Since Oneflare closed in June 2026, there are fewer big tradie marketplaces left, so most alternatives are channels you own rather than another lead platform.

Why look for a hipages alternative?
Roofers usually look elsewhere for one of four reasons:
- Shared leads. hipages says up to three businesses can claim a lead, so you are often competing on the same job.
- Cost. Plans went up in July 2026. Starter moved from $129 to $139 a month plus GST and Platinum from $599 to $649 (PricingSaaS). Full detail in hipages cost for roofers.
- Contracts. In 2023 the ACCC accepted a court-enforceable undertaking from hipages over how it had disclosed automatic renewal and early termination terms (ACCC).
- Dependence. If one platform is your only source of work, any change to its prices or rules hits your whole diary. Oneflare's closure on 30 June 2026 showed how fast that can happen. See what happened to Oneflare.
None of these mean you must leave hipages. They are good reasons not to rely on it alone.
Alternative 1: Airtasker
Customers post a task and Taskers make offers. Airtasker says its Tasker service fee ranges from 11.9% to 20% (excluding GST), depending on your tier, taken when the customer releases payment.
- Good for: quick repairs, a few cracked tiles, gutter cleans, small jobs a customer can describe clearly.
- Less good for: full restorations or re-roofs that need an inspection and written scope. A percentage fee grows with the job.

Alternative 2: Google Business Profile and Google Maps
When a homeowner searches "roof repairs" plus their suburb, Google shows map results near the top. Those enquiries are not shared: the customer chose you. Google says local results are based mainly on relevance, distance and prominence, and that complete information and reviews help.

Alternative 3: Your own website
Your website is where Google, referrals and past customers go to check you out before they call. It should have your phone number at the top, a short booking or "free roof check" form, a page for each service, real photos, and your real reviews. A site is not a lead source on its own; it makes every other source convert better.
Alternative 4: Google Search ads
Search ads put you at the top for searches you choose, like "roof leak repair [suburb]", and you set the budget. They can bring enquiries within days. They only make sense if every call and form is answered fast, because you pay for the click whether or not you pick up. Note that Google Local Services Ads ("Google Guaranteed") are not available in Australia.
Alternative 5: Referrals and reviews
Every happy customer can send you more work, but only if you ask. Two habits help: ask for a Google review on the day you finish, and leave a card or note for neighbours. Keep the review request the same for every customer; filtering out unhappy customers can breach Google's policies and Australian Consumer Law.
Alternative 6: The quotes you already sent
This is the alternative most roofers forget. Many have dozens of quotes from the last year that never got a yes or a no. Those people already asked you to quote. A short, friendly follow-up costs nothing but time. Our quote follow-up guide has five ready-to-send messages.

Where LeadKites fits
LeadKites sells a lead system to Australian roofers, so we are one of the alternatives on this page. We don't sell shared leads. We answer every enquiry within 60 seconds, follow up every quote for 21 days, book inspections into your calendar, and build your Google Maps presence and website. You can start with the $497 Quote Reactivation Sprint, refunded if it books zero inspections, or see Search Dominance for the Google side. All prices are on the pricing page, in AUD with no GST charged. We don't promise lead numbers.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best alternative to hipages for roofers?
There is no single best one. For most roofers the strongest long-term alternative is their own Google Business Profile and website, because those leads aren't shared. For quick work, following up old quotes and Airtasker for small jobs can help while that builds.
Is Airtasker cheaper than hipages?
It depends on job size. Airtasker is free to make offers but takes a 11.9% to 20% (excl. GST) service fee on the task price, while hipages charges a monthly plan with lead credits and no commission. On small jobs Airtasker can cost less; on large jobs a percentage fee adds up quickly.
Can I get exclusive roofing leads?
Enquiries from your own Google profile, website, referrals and ads are not shared with other businesses. Marketplaces usually share leads. See our comparison of shared and exclusive roofing leads for more.
How long does it take to replace hipages with Google leads?
Google Maps rankings usually take weeks to months to improve, depending on your area and competition. That is why many roofers keep a paid source running while they build their own channels.
Is Oneflare still an option?
No. Oneflare closed on 30 June 2026 and its website and app now redirect to Airtasker.
